How to Prepare for Your Appointment
VERY IMPORTANT!!
Preparing your skin for your spray tan can mean the difference between a good tan or a bad tan. The longevity of a spray tan starts with the proper skincare at home before your appt. The thicker the layer of dead skin cells on your skin, the sooner it will rub off. If you exfoliate, the layer will be very soft and your spray tan will last longer. Exfoliation can be done with a loofah sponge or an exfoliating body scrub. It also helps to start moisturizing your skin 3 days before your appointment by applying lotion twice a day. There's a fine line between being exfoliated with dead skin cells removed but also not having too dry of skin.
Shaving should be done the night before or at least 4-6 hours before your appointment. Shower and Exfoliate a few hours or more prior to your session. Do not apply lotion before your appointment. You want your skin to be thirsty so the solution will soak into your skin more. Make sure your skin is free of any lotion, moisturizer, perfume, makeup, and deodorant as they can all affect the result of your tan.
Get your manicure or pedicure one day or more prior to appointment.
Avoid waxing, facials, and dermabrasions within one day of your spray tan appointment.
In summary here are the preparation steps to follow to ensure you get the best results possible from your spray tan:
1. IN THE 2-3 DAYS BEFORE APPT, APPLY LOTION TWICE A DAY SO SKIN WILL BE WELL HYDRATED
2. SHAVE THE NIGHT BEFORE OR MORNING OF APPT (preferably at least 6 hrs before appt)
3. ARRIVE AT APPT WEARING LOOSE DARK CLOTHING
4. DO NOT APPLY DEODORANT, MOISTURIZER OR ANY OILS ON YOUR SKIN UNTIL AFTER RINSE
